How to use TikTok on PC

Raise your hand if you haven’t had the curiosity to try TikTok , the social app of the moment. If before Facebook and Instagram dominated unchallenged, today TikTok represents the point of reference for millions and millions of people around the world.

And if downloading the app on mobile devices is out of the question, what do you need to do to use TikTok on PC? Since the situation is different if you use a computer with Windows 10 instead of Windows 11, we’ve split this guide into two parts.

In the first part, we will explain how to use TikTok on a PC with Windows 10 operating system . In the second part, instead, we will illustrate the steps to use TikTok on a PC with Windows 11.

How to Use TikTok on Windows 10 PC

To use TikTok on a PC that still has the Windows 10 operating system, you need to get an Android emulator , that is, a service that allows you to launch Android apps on computers that are otherwise incompatible. There are several emulators: one of the best is BlueStacks , which we talked about in the guide on how to use Android apps on your PC .

The BlueStacks download is available on this page . The advice is to download version number 4, because version 5 is optimized for Windows 11 and therefore there could be some problems if used with a Windows 10 PC.

Once the download and guided installation are complete, simply launch BlueStacks and log in using your Google account credentials. Once logged in, the Play Store icon appears; now all that remains is to type the word tiktok in the search bar , locate the desired app and press the Install button.

As you can see, these are the same steps that are normally followed to download an app from the phone. At this point, once the installation of the TikTok app via BlueStacks is complete, you can decide whether to log in to the app with your profile credentials or continue using TikTok without an account .

If you choose to use TikTok without a profile, remember that you cannot create, share, or comment on new posts.

Important : BlueStacks, in addition to being one of the best emulators for PC, also works on Mac.

How to Use TikTok on Windows 11 PC

Windows 11 makes things a lot easier. In fact, unlike Windows 10, you just need to connect to the Microsoft Store , type the name of the TikTok app and proceed as you would with any normal PC app installation. Nothing could be simpler.

Here, in detail, are the steps to take.

Click the Microsoft Store icon on the taskbar.

Type the name “tiktok” (without quotation marks) in the search bar at the top and select the TikTok (App) result .

In the new screen that opens, click on “Get” to start downloading the app.

Press the “Open” button to launch TikTok on your computer.

Log in to TikTok using your login credentials. If you don’t have an account yet, register one using the “Don’t have an account? Sign Up” link located at the bottom of the screen.

Note : To make the login process faster the next time you restart your computer, keep the check mark next to “Pin to taskbar” and “Pin to Start” and press the “Allow” button .

Once you log in, you will see the TikTok home page.

At the bottom right you can see the keyboard shortcuts you can use via the TikTok app for Windows 11 desktop:

  • Up arrow key: previous video
  • Down arrow key: next video
  • L button: Like the video
  • M key: mute/unmute video

For the rest, the app downloaded from the Microsoft Store allows you to perform most of the actions available through the Android or iOS application, including uploading a video – press “+ Upload” – or starting a live video via the camera icon located in the left side menu.

Conclusion

For simplicity and user experience, the best option is to use TikTok on a PC with Windows 11.
